So, I did a restart, and that seemed to do the trick, with the wee exception that MyTomtom wouldn't release the computer to do the restart, until I powered off the Tomtom. Poking around on their site they said something about checking the Firewall, I did, but that wasn't it because I didn't get any messages of any new programs trying to connect. ![]() But then when I went to the Tomtom site and downloaded their MyTomtom it wouldn't connect. I initially plugged in the unit to my computer and it was recognized in Windows 7 easily enough. The installation process was a little awkward. But considering the one is free, if I was wanting to save money, I could likely manage with the NavFree. They both calculated the same path, though the Tomtom is definitely the easier to operate, a definite plus in the car. ![]() I also compared it to my Nexus 7 running NavFree USA. There were a couple of places were the irregular streets don't quite match up, so the voice says take a left and then an immediate right even though the road itself passes through the intersection.
